Rand Paul says the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will vote next week to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress after he refused to answer hours of lawmakers’ questions, invoking the Fifth Amendment 111 times.
Paul told Fauci the committee will vote to “certify” him for contempt, arguing his blanket pardon from former President Joe Biden means he cannot invoke the Fifth Amendment over matters covered by the pardon.
“Because you refuse to answer, citing a privilege that is unsupported… this committee has scheduled a vote next week on a resolution certifying your contempt,” Paul said
