Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.”

Bartiromo’s Departure from Fox News
A top Fox News anchor is departing the network after a decade in what appears to be dramatic fashion.
Fox News Media announced on Thursday that longtime Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo is leaving the network, prompting questions about whether she would join the Trump administration.
Fox News has already begun narrowing down candidates to host the three programs Bartiromo previously hosted.
Last Appearance and Transition Plans
On the weekday program “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business, Bartiromo’s last actual on-air appearance there was August 7, 2026.
Although the program continued carrying her name through September 3, she was absent for nearly four weeks.
During that absence, several Fox Business personalities filled in rather than one permanent substitute.
Jackie DeAngelis hosted “Mornings with Maria” on August 20, including leading the program’s panels and interviews.
Lauren Simonetti served as guest host, including on August 14.
Cheryl Casone, a much more familiar face on Fox Business, also guest-hosted during Bartiromo’s absence, including on August 27.
So Casone, DeAngelis, and Simonetti appear to have been among the principal rotating fill-ins while Bartiromo was gone.
New Show Hosts and Format Changes
Fox News announced on Thursday that Mornings with Maria becomes Mornings with FOX Business starting September 4, with rotating anchors.
Bartiromo’s Wall Street becomes FBN’s Wall Street, with Cheryl Casone hosting September 4.
Jason Chaffetz will host Sunday Morning Futures this Sunday, September 6, while Fox News searches for a permanent host.
Bartiromo is considered one of the network’s most high-profile hosts and has developed a strong rapport with the president over the last decade.
In a statement, Fox News Media said, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”
Bartiromo is considered one of the most influential figures in conservative media.
Whether she decides to shift into a more political role remains to be determined.
A Legendary Career in Financial Journalism
Bartiromo spent nearly four decades building one of the most recognizable careers in American financial journalism, breaking barriers on Wall Street before becoming a major force at Fox Business and Fox News.
The Brooklyn-born journalist graduated from New York University, where she studied journalism and economics, a combination that would ultimately define her professional life.
Bartiromo began her television career behind the scenes at CNN Business News, spending five years as a producer, writer, and assignment editor before leaping to CNBC in 1993.
Her career changed dramatically in 1995 when Bartiromo became the first television journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange daily.
Bartiromo eventually became one of CNBC’s defining personalities during her 20-year tenure, helping launch “Squawk Box” while anchoring “Closing Bell” and serving as anchor and managing editor of “On the Money.”
Over the years, Bartiromo sat down with corporate titans, policymakers, and presidents, including Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

After two decades at CNBC, Bartiromo made another major career move, joining Fox Business Network as Global Markets Editor in 2014.
She became the face of “Mornings with Maria,” while also taking the helm of Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” and later “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street.”
Her programs increasingly blended economics, markets, Washington politics, and national security, expanding Bartiromo’s role from financial journalist into one of conservative media’s most prominent interviewers.
At Fox, she interviewed President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Treasury officials, congressional leaders, and some of America’s most powerful executives.
Awards, Recognition, and Literary Work
Bartiromo’s lengthy career also produced major industry recognition.
She won two Emmy Awards and a Gracie Award, was named among the Financial Times’ “50 Faces That Shaped the Decade” in 2009, and became the first female journalist inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame in 2011.
The Library of American Broadcasting later inducted her among its Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts in 2016, and she received the Horatio Alger Award in 2026.
She also authored several books, including “The Weekend That Changed Wall Street” and “The 10 Laws of Enduring Success.”
Fox News Media announced September 3 that Bartiromo was leaving after approximately 12½ years, thanking the veteran journalist and wishing her well in her “next chapter.”
