President Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and is “fully fit” to carry out presidential duties, according to a medical report released Friday following a comprehensive examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The evaluation was conducted by Dr. Sean Barbabella and involved 22 medical specialists who performed extensive testing including CT scans, cardiac imaging, and cancer screenings. The report concluded Trump remains capable of fully performing the responsibilities of the presidency.

What the Examination Found

Trump weighed 238 pounds during the examination, up 14 pounds from his April 2025 physical. His body mass index measured 29.7, placing him just below the 30 threshold generally classified as obese.

Physicians documented minor bruising on Trump’s hands, which they attributed to “frequent handshaking” and aspirin therapy. The report recommended a switch to low-dose aspirin and provided guidance on diet, physical activity, and weight management.

Trump’s cholesterol levels showed significant improvement, with total cholesterol measuring 143, down from 223 in 2018. The improvement was attributed to medications including rosuvastatin and ezetimibe.

Cognitive and Physical Performance

The report stated that Trump’s “cognitive and physical performance are excellent,” with no abnormal findings during the comprehensive evaluation. Barbabella noted the president’s demanding schedule, including multiple high-level meetings and public engagements, continues to support his overall well-being.

Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used screening tool for cognitive impairment. He matched the same results from examinations in 2025 and 2018.

Cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological evaluations showed strong performance across all categories. The report also noted improvement in chronic venous insufficiency, a condition disclosed last year that causes blood pooling in the legs.

Health Disclosure and Political Context

This marks the fourth publicly disclosed medical evaluation since Trump returned to office for his second term. The release comes as the administration seeks to demonstrate the president’s fitness heading into the midterm election cycle.

Trump, who turns 80 next month, was the oldest person ever elected president at the time of his election. Presidential health disclosures remain a matter of public interest, though no legal requirement mandates presidents release complete medical records.
